Honest fit check

Is this for you?

For Performance and Integrated Performance. Better to know now than three months in.

This is for you if

  • you're managing an injury or coming back from one, and want one person to own the plan.
  • a problem keeps coming back once the cricket load rises.
  • you want your bowling, rehab and gym planned together, not in three separate places.
  • you'll log your bowling and do the work between reviews.

This isn't for you if

  • you need a diagnosis this week: book a consultation first.
  • you want a program with nobody watching it: Essentials suits that.
  • you're after a guarantee: nobody honest offers one.

How it works

From application to your first review

  1. Apply

Two short steps, about five minutes. I read every application myself.

  2. A suitability check

For Performance, a short check that it fits. For Integrated Performance, a conversation first. Then payment and your assessment booking.

  3. Assessment

60 minutes, in Richmond or by video: your history, an examination where needed, and your cricket load.

  4. Baseline testing

So there is something to measure change against. Repeated every 12 weeks at Performance and every 6 weeks at Integrated Performance.

  5. Your written plan

Bowling, rehab and physical preparation in one place, shared with your coach if you choose.

  6. Reviews

Monthly at Performance, weekly at Integrated Performance. The plan changes as the season does.

Essentials is simpler: apply, then a payment link, onboarding and the workload tool.

What's included

Five parts, one plan

Everything in Performance and Integrated Performance, grouped by what it does for you. The full list for each level is on its card above.

  • Assessment and testing

So the plan starts from what your body does now.

    • A 60-minute initial assessment, in person or by video
    • Baseline physical testing and role-specific targets
    • Formal re-testing every 12 weeks (Performance) or 6 weeks (Integrated Performance)
  • One plan

So your bowling, rehab and gym pull in one direction.

    • Individual rehabilitation programming
    • Return-to-bowling and return-to-performance planning
    • Physical preparation: a template with modifications (Performance), or individual S&C (Integrated Performance)
    • Sports nutrition and recovery guidance
  • Reviews

So the plan changes as the season does.

    • A monthly 30-minute review (Performance) or a weekly review (Integrated Performance)
    • Workload and soreness reviewed with you, not only logged
    • A short written summary after each review, or a monthly written report
  • Workload monitoring

So a sudden rise in bowling is spotted and planned around.

    • The Bowling Workload Tool and a player dashboard
    • Automated alerts reviewed, and clinically important ones escalated sooner
    • Video review when it is clinically relevant
  • Your support team

So your coach, S&C coach and doctors hear the same plan.

    • Coach and S&C communication: about the injury (Performance) or ongoing (Integrated Performance)
    • Imaging review and referral coordination
    • Direct messaging, with a reply target of 72 hours (Performance) or 24 hours (Integrated Performance)

In practice

What the table does not show

The comparison lists what each level includes. Four principles sit behind it.

Ball counts start the conversation

You record your bowling in the Bowling Workload Tool. Counts do not predict injury on their own: what matters is how load changes, how you respond the next day, and what else is going on. At Performance I review it monthly, earlier when something is clinically important, and at Integrated Performance every week.

Testing measures change

Baseline testing is adapted to your role, and benchmarks track your change over time. They are not a pass mark, and no screening test predicts who gets injured. Essentials members test through a paid Sports Injury Screening or Return to Performance Assessment, at 20% off.

Membership does not stop injuries

It changes how early they are picked up and how well the return is planned. Rehab finishes when you are prepared for the demands of your role, not when the pain stops, and bowlers return one variable at a time. At Integrated Performance I stay involved after a specialist review.

In Melbourne or remote

Assessment, testing and hands-on care happen at Bridge Road Physiotherapy, 507 Bridge Road, Richmond. Remote members work through telehealth where their location suits it, the workload tool, video review and field tests, and I work with a physio near you when you need hands-on care.

Investment

What it costs

The price comes last on purpose: what you get matters more than what it costs. Here it is.

Membership prices, upfront options, under-18 prices and minimum commitment
LevelMonthlyPaid upfrontUnder 18MinimumPlaces
Essentials$79$853 a year$65 a monthNone25
Performance$449$1,212 for 3 months$360 a month1 month10
Integrated Performance$949$2,562 for 3 months$760 a month3 months, then month to month5

Prices in Australian dollars. Paying upfront saves about 10%. Under-18 pricing applies to players under 18 when they join, and does not stack with member rates. Assume the membership fee is not claimable on private health; separate in-person appointments are. Cancelling, pausing and changing level: see the rules below.

The fine print

Memberships do not replace hands-on physiotherapy. In-person treatment is separate, at a member rate.

Member rates for in-person services

Performance and Integrated Performance members receive 20% off in-person appointments and assessments (initial, review and extended consultations, Sports Injury Screening and the Return to Performance Assessment) while their membership is active. Essentials members receive 20% off telehealth injury triage, Sports Injury Screening and Return to Performance Assessment. There is no routine in-person treatment discount at Essentials.

Member rates apply to appointments booked and attended while your membership is active. In-person appointments are at Bridge Road Physiotherapy, 507 Bridge Road, Richmond. Member rates do not combine with junior pricing or any other offer. The standard fees are on Appointments and fees.

Under 18?

Essentials is $79 a month, or $65 a month for players under 18. Performance and Integrated Performance have under-18 prices too, in What it costs.

Junior pricing applies to players under 18 when they join. A parent or guardian completes onboarding and gives consent. Junior pricing does not stack with treatment discounts. Separate treatment receives the standard member discount only.

PausingFlexible, with noticeFlexible, with noticeFlexible, with notice

Pause with notice. Your place is held for pauses of up to 4 weeks. Longer pauses do not guarantee a place if that level is full when you return.

Reasonable use

Integrated Performance includes high-access telehealth and messaging. Performance includes telehealth follow-up for clinically relevant issues that come up between scheduled reviews. Messages get a reply within the target for your level: 72 hours at Performance, 24 hours at Integrated Performance, seven days a week.

Neither level includes:

  • Emergency medical care
  • Guaranteed same-day appointments
  • Live 24/7 communication or continuous messaging
  • Unlimited in-person treatment
  • Match-day or tournament attendance
  • Travel
  • Imaging, specialist or other external medical fees

Not an emergency service

Membership is not an emergency medical service. For a serious injury, severe or worsening pain, numbness or weakness, a head knock with any worrying signs, or chest pain, call 000 or go to an emergency department. Do not wait for a message reply.

Common questions

Do I need to be injured to join?

No. The service covers injury management, workload, physical preparation and performance. Plenty of members join with nothing wrong.

Do I need to live in Melbourne?

No. Performance and Integrated Performance support remote players through telehealth, monitoring, video review and field testing. In-person assessment and testing are available in Richmond.

Does membership include physio treatment?

Telehealth support is included according to your level. Hands-on treatment is separate, and Performance and Integrated Performance members pay 20% less for it.

What happens if I get injured?

Performance and Integrated Performance include new-injury triage and ongoing management. Essentials members get discounted telehealth triage.

Do you replace my club physio or S&C coach?

No. Where you already have a support team, this works alongside them. Good outcomes in cricket usually involve several people, and my job is to connect the pieces rather than take them over.

Do you communicate with my coach?

Integrated Performance includes ongoing communication where it helps. Performance includes communication around specific injury and return-to-play issues. Either way, only with your permission.

What happens if my scan shows an injury?

Performance and Integrated Performance include imaging review, referral coordination and communication with the clinicians involved. I do not order imaging myself; I will tell you when it is worth asking a doctor for it and why.

Do you guarantee I will not get injured?

No. Injury risk depends on many factors, several of them outside anyone's control. The service focuses on preparation, workload, picking problems up earlier, rehabilitation and better-informed decisions.

Is this only for fast bowlers?

No. It supports bowlers, batters, wicketkeepers and all-rounders. Bowling-specific monitoring naturally matters most to bowlers.

Do juniors get different pricing?

Yes. The under-18 price for every level is in What it costs. A parent or guardian completes onboarding and gives consent.

What happens if I need to pause?

Memberships pause with notice. Your place is held for pauses of up to four weeks. Longer pauses do not guarantee a place if that level is full when you come back.

Is the membership fee claimable on private health insurance?

Assume not. Health funds rebate individual consultations, and a membership fee is not itemised that way. Separate in-person appointments at Bridge Road are claimable on the spot, depending on your fund and cover. Ask your fund if you want certainty.

What if I need emergency medical care?

The membership is not an emergency medical service. Call 000 or go to an emergency department.

What if I'm already in season?

Start anyway. The plan is built around your fixtures and training days, so the assessment fits between matches and the reviews follow the season as it happens. Mid-season is when many problems show up, so it is a common time to start.

Do I need a gym?

It depends on the level. Essentials includes strength and warm-up libraries you follow yourself. Performance plans rehab and preparation around the equipment you have, and a gym widens the options. Integrated Performance includes individual S&C, so regular access to a gym matters most there.

How old do I need to be?

Juniors are welcome. Players under 18 join with a parent or guardian, who completes onboarding and gives consent, and they pay the under-18 price. For young fast bowlers, Cricket Australia's junior pace bowling guidelines sit inside the plan.

How do I start?

Apply on the player memberships page: two short steps, about five minutes. I read every application myself and reply as soon as possible. Performance and Integrated Performance then begin with a suitability check and the 60-minute assessment. Essentials begins with a payment link and onboarding.

Not sure which level fits?

Up to five questions, and you get a recommendation with the reasons for it.
